Despite its position as one of Australia's biggest fabric manufacturers, National Textiles was not a household name until last week.
But it was well known in Australia's investment community.
The flamboyant and highly successful Sydney stockbroker and entrepreneur Mr Rene Rivkin has owned shares in National Textiles since 1998.
According to the Australian Securities and Investment Commission, Mr Rivkin currently holds 157,500 shares, although this puts him in the minority as a shareholder.
Then there's Mr Stanley Howard, brother of the Prime Minister, who has been a director since 1993 and is currently chairman of the board.
Mr Howard is also the chairman of Hills Motorway and Cumnock Coal.
The rest of the investors, although not as well known as Mr Howard and Mr Rivkin, are from well-heeled addresses.
The majority shareholder is Mr Philip James Bart, of Wunulla Road, Point Piper.
Mr Bart, who owns the related National Bartex at Rosebery, which has also collapsed, owns 40 per cent of the shares in National Textiles.
